I am a qualified Counsellor and Therapist with professional training in Person Centred counselling, Narrative therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy. I work in an integrative way, using approaches and resources from the various areas I have trained in, to support people to understand and examine the experiences which influence their lives. I work from the fundamental position that the person (client) is not the problem: ‘the problem is the problem’ and support them to better understand how experiences or problems in their lives influence their happiness and sense of personal well being, and how, with the right support, they can 're-author' those experiences or problems to find new hope and confidence.
I work with clients who experience a range of challenges resulting from their day to day and past experiences in ways which normalise, and offer compassionate and non-judgemental support to them, to make sense of their experiences and distress. My focus is on how people understand their experiences which have shaped their lives up to now, and how they can identify and utilise their own inner resources in ways which empower and help them to experience increased happiness and satisfaction.

I have lived and professional experience of supporting people who have experienced distress resulting from trauma, life changes, loss and bereavement, and in supporting people with disability to experience fullness and equity in their lives. I am also a qualified Social Worker.
